YOU ARE NOMINATED TO SERVE AS THE EXECUTOR OF AN ESTATE. NOW WHAT?

You may be nominated to serve as the executor of a person’s estate who has passed away pursuant to their Last Will & Testament. However, you have no authority to act as the executor until you file an application with the County Probate Court in which the decedent last resided to be appointed as the executor of his/her estate. Once your application has been approved by the County Probate Court, then and only then do you have authority and responsibilities as the executor of the estate.

Do you have questions about serving as an executor and administering an estate? The attorneys at Bailey & Gunderson, with offices in Norwood, Western Hills and Anderson Township, can asset you. If you should have any questions, please call us at 513-631-0022.
