Be aware that the court can impute income to you and may expect you to be working if your children are school aged and you are not of retirement age or disabled. Spousal support is not granted in every case and is dependent upon several factors that the court must consider by law. Typically, cases were the spouses have large differences of income and a long-term marriage are some of the primary factors in cases where spousal support is granted.
